Feeling stuck? Let’s bring your story to life!

WRITE AND FINISH YOUR DAMN (GOOD) BOOK

Hi Reader,

I’m fluttering into your inbox today, very much like how story ideas flutter around our heads.

Occasionally they choose to land on us and soak into our sponge-like minds where they whisper, “Hey… please write me! I’m a story worth telling!”

I fully believe that the ideas that come to us are living creatures waiting to be brought to life (just read Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic for a compelling story about this!).

These ideas want to be given a chance to shine in the world, brighten someone’s day, instill a meaningful message, frighten, enthrall, invigorate!

To imagine a world that’s different from ours, step into the shoes of someone different than we are, become a spy, fall in love…

As writers, it is our duty to birth these ideas into the world as the creative doulas we are.

However… Oftentimes, writing a novel can feel like delivering a breech calf rather than a smooth and joyful creative process.

It’s messy, it’s challenging, and sometimes it feels freakin’ impossible.

But the end result is always worth it.

A story that’s alive, breathing, and ready to connect with your readers.

Stories aren’t just entertainment; they’re a gateway to empathy. They let us see the world through someone else’s eyes, feel what they feel, and experience lives far beyond our own.

Stories provide escape, yes, but they also make us more compassionate, more connected, and more human.

And we all need that now more than ever, amiright?

In my latest article, you’ll learn all about how I came to create the Novel-Worthy Idea Workbook and Intensive and how it can help you:

  • Take your story idea from a sparkling glimmer of hope into the foundation of an unforgettable novel.
  • Move past doubt and reconnect with a story you already started (or finished!).
  • Create a connection with your idea that will inspire and motivate you to reach The End.

P.S. If you’re getting this email, you probably already have the complimentary workbook! Lucky you! But in case you misplaced it, you can download it again here. Pssst… inside is a coupon for a Novel-Worthy Idea Intensive!

P.P.S. I will be out of the country for the next week, so if you do take advantage of that coupon and submit your work before February 24th, the timing will be a bit off.

WRITE AND FINISH YOUR DAMN (GOOD) BOOK Hi Reader, I’m shambling into your inbox today to talk about time again, because most of the time we don’t have time. And like I said last week, our creative efforts are often pushed to the bottom of the to-do list to be completed after all the other things that vie for our attention. What if I told you that, amongst all the things you have to do day to day, you do have time to write—you just might not see it yet? Hear me out! I know, that sounds like,...

WRITE AND FINISH YOUR DAMN (GOOD) BOOK Hi Reader, January… everyone’s talking about resolutions and goals and planning… I’m over here just happy to have survived a polar vortex (coupled with gusting wind that always makes me feel like the giant cottonwood in our backyard is going to fall over and kill us #horrorauthor). This tree is massive. Giant cottonwood tree with a brilliant pink, purple, and blue sunrise behind it. I’m also reeling at the state of the world. Fires destroying so much of...

WRITE AND FINISH YOUR DAMN (GOOD) BOOK Hi Reader, Happy New Year! I hope you had a WONDERFUL holiday season! This is the first year in a while where I actually FEEL like it's a whole New Year (but don't worry, I'm not a "new year new me" kind of person... well, not really). There's nothing wrong with continuing to do what you do well into the new year. You don't have to create unrealistic goals and promises that don't actually align with who you are! I started this way and have already scaled...
