Hi Reader,
I’m coming in with a little cheek today (get it? Peach emoji… butts… cheek?)
The listening tour (see footer) has been going on for a few weeks and one thing I’ve noticed so far is, when asked “What do I do in your words?” The answers are… all over the place! 🫠🙃🫣
I think one person came close when she said, “You’re like a life coach... but for writers.”
So, to help explain what I actually do around here, I wrote a little ditty about it.
You can read that here.
But never fear. I’m also going to attempt to break it down here too (the article has concrete examples and the explanation for the subject line 🍑🌛).
What I help writers do:
- Choose and develop the "right" story idea so they can move forward with confidence, excitement, and motivation.
- Start writing again after feeling stuck or overwhelmed or over-learned.
- Finish first drafts.
- Identify first steps to major revisions when they’re sick of looking at their manuscripts.
- Build sustainable momentum that works with their real lives (chronic illness, aging parents, full-time jobs, kids, all of it).
All without forcing a formula, rigid structure, self-guided course... you get it.
My coaching is personalized to fit you wherever you are. <- That's the article again. Spoiler: It's about personalized coaching.
Aside from the “tangible” transformations or results, I also:
- Create an inviting and safe place for you to just be you in all your creative goblin form and messy human self. No guilt, no shame, just curiosity, questions, and different ways of thinking.
- Provide a fertile garden where creativity thrives no matter what season you’re in.
- Brainstorm with you while keeping your vision of your story or idea front and center.
- Give a lot of permission. Permission to find your own way, your own path forward, and your own definition of success.
- Help design flexible goals that work with your life with caring accountability (and maybe a little snark… and always with a smile).
- Bring excitement and enthusiasm into everything I do!
So, if this sounds like the kind of support you didn't even know you need, I’d love for you to get your name on my list by filling out my application.
After that, I’ll follow up with an invite to book a connection call.
This is not a sales trap. It’s just a friendly chat. There’s no obligation.
We’ll get to know each other. We’ll see how our energies and personalities work together.
We’ll talk about where you are with your writing and what you want next, where you want to go with it.
And we’ll explore how I might be able to support you on that magical journey.
That’s it.
No shady sales tactics, I promise! It’s an invitation to connect.
No matter where you are in your process, you are welcome here.
And I would love to meet you.
Keep writing!
Claire 🍑🌛
P.S. I’m booked out with clients for the next couple months, which is why I encourage you to apply to get your name on the list. If my kind of coaching sounds at all interesting to you or like something you could use help with this year, please fill out my application.
Now I sound like I’m begging… would it help if I were? 🙏🥺
P.P. S. If nothing else, take a look at the article I wrote and get in on the 🍑🌛joke with me. I’m cracking myself up over here!
P.P.S. Because I'm "trying to talk about my offers more," Story Compasses can be purchased at any time of the year. No need to apply or get on a call. Ever. It's 100% asynchronous!
